Learning a new language is like a challenging adventure for some people. Choosing a language to learn was influenced by so many things, it can be because of work or just because we really like the language and interested to learn it because of its beauty. Here are some facts about Arabic language that you should consider to learn. 

• It's So Important For Muslims

Al-Qur'an was written in Arabic and it's the Prophet's native language. It's really clear that in order to understand more about Islam and to know more about Allah and Rasulullah, it's our obligation to learn Arabic.

• Arabic Will Allow You To Communicate With Millions of People

Arabic is one of the six United Nations official languages, along with Chinese, English, French, Russian and Spanish. It’s also one of the widely spoken language in the world as it's the official language of over 25 countries and has more than 400 million speakers around the world. Arabic is an extremely useful language as it will open the doors to a vast portion of the world, enable you to get connected with so many people who speaks the language.

• You'll Never Run Out Of Different Ways To Say The Same Thing

In the court of Harun al-Rashid: The Khalifa asked the famous linguist and poet al-Asma’i to explain a poem full of difficult words. Al-Asma’i completed the task with ease. Harun al-Rashid said,” Verily O’ Asma’i strange words are not strange to you”. Asma’i replied, “O commander of the believers, how can it be otherwise? For I know 70 words for a rock!”

Zubaidi (379H) says that there are 400 names for the lion, 300 for the sword, 255 for the camel, 170 for water, 70 for rain, and each of these words have a particular usage. (Source : Aqrabiyyat al-Lugha al-Arabiyyah (ISESC))

It’s so overwhelming to know that Arabic has so many synonyms for just one word that made us can express anything with so many different words.

Poetry held an important role in the Arabic Society. Poetry was how news was spread and stories were told. It’s also represented the highest literary in expression for Arabs which was associated with the greatness of the Arabic language itself.

Arabic is indeed a very important language to learn for every Muslims but it’s also very interesting because of its beauty and how widely spoken it is in the world. I'm not going to deny that Arabic is such a difficult language to learn, but we have to remember how many advantages that we can get from it.
