Korean Dramas, Its Addiction And The Solutions

With the big Korean wave, many people have been familiar with things related to Korean, like K-pop, Korean foods and culture and of course the dramas. Almost people around the world, especially Indonesian these days is already make Korean dramas as their main entertainment.

There are many reasons why people are so attracted and even addicted to Korean Dramas. Some people found the stories are well-written and the etiquette and mannerisms are also interesting. Not only that, it was also wonderful to watch a culture immersed so beautifully in the traditions of the past with carriers of the modernization of society. Some people are also found that the dramas show that we are all the same - anxieties, worries about love and life, and that we all seek the same peace and respect in the world. We all strive to put the best of ourselves and we all struggle whether it’s approval or promotion.

Besides having good values that made people attracted to it, watching korean dramas also also have negative impacts like consuming a lot of time because they are highly addicting. But, it all depends on what kind of drama it is, or what kind of student is watching it to find the effects. For example, if a very studious student is watching a Korean drama but still manages to get 100s on every test, that is considered neutral as it has a 0% effect on that student’s life. Negative effects may happen, when a student gets caught up in watching dramas, leaving no time to study. This leads her to not score very well, which brings a negative outcome. But the essence is same to whatever distracts the student, if she has a movie series or books that the student likes, and completely has no focus on studying, the same outcome arrives. So Korean Dramas are not to blame for distraction, but rather the student’s ability to focus. The outcome is no negative affects from specifically watching Korean dramas. However, there is a positive effect from watching Korean dramas: Allowing the mind to expand diversity and knowledge of South Korea, to learning the language slowly. It is very important to respect the growing diversity as of right now, so Korean Dramas are a perfect way to get to know South Korea more, and explore their customs and traditions, or trends through K dramas.

There are some things you need  to know to overcome the addiction. First thing, if you are addicted to something, means you are feeling lonely. So try to make many friends, move to places, play your favorite games, talk to near ones and do whatever you want to do, which makes you happy.

You are finding your happiness in other world (not real world), where you and your favorite characters only present in that abstract world. you are letting those characters to take your mind and heart. First, think that they are only dramas and movies. The characters are not real, watch the making videos of dramas and movies then you will realize that those are just an act.

Each Korean drama episode start with curious start, and they make all the boredom/unrelated scenes in the middle and end up with a nice twist, so that we enthusiastic about the next episode. So don’t watch episode to episode, watch like episode 1 to the middle of episode 1 and from the middle of episode 1 to middle of the episode 2 like wise. So you can’t be addicted with curiosity. Don’t waste much time on dramas, by using above watching method as there is no curiosity you can watch the drama whenever you feel bore or whenever you got free time.

‌Just like how you would overcome other addiction issue, to stop your addiction to korean drama, you need to find other things to do whenever your addiction knocks in, and really try to focus. Even washing the dishes helps. On the first week, you might have to force yourself. It gets easier over time, though, and after few weeks, you’re finally free.

On Insecurity

It's been a long time since the last time I wrote in this blog. I'm pretty well but not quite great.  The topic that I'm gonna talk about here is something that I'm familiar with, which is insecurity.  If I have to be honest, I've been dealing with insecurity for the past few years. It was because I always feel left out compared to people my age in terms of achievements. The feeling struck me whenever I see them who have been achieving so many things in life while I still feel clueless about what I should do in life. Feeling insecure is like a disease because it can affect many aspects in your life. When you feel insecure, you think that you're not good enough and it holds you for doing things that you actually good at but you can't see it because you're already feel like you're not enough. I found this interesting perspective about insecurity from someone's tweet. He tweeted, "...insecurity is the worst thing you can unconsciously feed into
